Consistent with the vision of the company, in El Canelillo we have been producing, for more than a decade, the strictest global conflicts, being certified today in the most demanding international standards: Global GAP, GRASP, FSMA and Tesco Nurture.
Thanks to this, we can demonstrate the quality, safety and innocuity of our products, the health care and well-being of workers, compliance with laws, care for the environment and a positive integration with the community of the sector.
Global GAP
Global GAP is an internationally recognized set of agricultural standards and oriented to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
Through certification, controlled producers comply with these standards. For distributors and consumers, the Global GAP certificate gives confidence regarding products that are safe and of quality, which have been produced in a sustainable manner, respecting the laws, health, safety and welfare of workers, as well as the environment.
GRASP
The Risk Assessment for Social Practices is a voluntary Global GAP module, in which El Canelillo can also certify, in coherence with its vision and with the importance that people have in our company.
Through this module, social practices are audited and evaluated, addressing specific issues related to the health, safety and welfare of workers.
GRASP helps producers to establish a good social management system in their companies, while offering buyers an additional guarantee on the care of people in the production process.
TESCO Nurture
Tesco Nurture is a private standard of British origin based on Good Agricultural Practices and responsible production with the environment. It is a requirement that all those fruit and vegetable suppliers of Tesco supermarkets must meet.
Tesco Nurture includes the BPAs established by Global GAP, specific requirements for environmental control, energy resources management, environmental protection through its fauna and flora and improvement of the agricultural environment.
It also requires greater control in the use of phytosanitary products and asks producers for specific activities for the control, management and reduction of the energy resources used in their farms. It also encourages fruit and vegetable suppliers to implement specific actions to protect the fauna and flora of the environment they occupy.
FSMA
The Food Safety Modernization Act, FSMA, is the strictest law passed by the United States in this area.
Through it, the Food and Drug Administration of the United States (FDA) carries out a Foreign Provider Verification Program. Importers must identify foods that are safe and are produced under conditions similar to those required by the US food industry. In addition, the supplier’s food safety record is monitored, along with audits, product analysis or review of food safety records.
This demanding process has been successfully carried out by El Canelillo, thanks to what our products are very well received in the United States.
In the major markets of the world
At El Canelillo we strive to provide our customers with a consistent and safe supply of premium fruit. Our oranges, mandarines and avocados travel to the most important world markets, being valued for their quality and safety.
